What is the difference between a Gold plated headphone jack and a normal headphone jack?

I just got some new headphones for my computer for x-mas and i noticed they had gold plated jacks. i’m wondering if gold plated jacks are better.

Gold does not oxidize. Gold is also the most efficient signal conductor. BTW, your headphones have plugs. Jacks are what plugs plug into.
